JPMorgan has hired a former Microsoft executive for its payments division.
Tahreem Kampton, who is part of the JPMorgan team, will focus on the future of payments, including the digital ecosystem and blockchain technology. JPMorgan has yet to comment on the matter.
JPMorgan Hires Former Microsoft Executive
Banking giant JPMorgan is counting on former Microsoft executive Tahreem Kampton for action on the future of payments.
The bank’s move comes months after JPMorgan invested in the technology. In a statement in January, the bank stated that it plans to increase the 12 billion dollars it spent on technology in 2021 by 20% this year.
Tahreem Kampton served as the company’s head of foreign exchange and commodities at Microsoft for more than two decades. In addition to his additional duties, he also assumed the position of chief investment officer in the company.
Kampton said in a statement:
“We are facing a new landscape where information, assets and value flow seamlessly between the physical, digital and virtual worlds, across borders, in space and even in the metaverse universe”
