License Shock from Binance to Cyprus!

Binance’s Cyprus branch has announced that it has filed for the deletion of its crypto-asset service provider license.

According to the stock market’s statement on its website, Cyprusbranch of, Binance to offer spot trading, custody and other services in accordance with Cyprus’ anti-money laundering and terrorist financing rules. Binance did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Binance’s Cyprus unit has applied for Cyprus to be removed from the registry of crypto-asset service providers, appeared on the securities regulator website without clarifying the reason for the application.

It was unclear when Binance applied to deregister. The exchange announced that it was registered with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission in October 2022. A source from the regulator stated on Wednesday that Binance has not started its business in Cyprus. The Cyprus branch allowed Binance to offer spot trading, custody and other services in line with Cyprus’ anti-money laundering and terrorist financing rules, the exchange previously announced on its website.
