Approval from Mango Markets Community

The Mango Markets community voted for a deal with the hacker who stole $114 million.

With the agreement, the hacker will return $ 67 million of the stolen funds, while $ 47 million will remain with him. Under the agreement, the project will not initiate a criminal investigation for the hacker.

It was stated that the hacker used 10 million dollars to carry out the attack and this would be deducted from the effective reward.

In the vote made by the community, 119 million tokens voted in favor, while 4.6 million voted against. It was stated that a sufficient number of votes was reached.

The poll was created by the Mango Markets team. In the voting, it was seen that the main wallets associated with the attack were not used. Before the vote, the hacker voted with 33 million of the stolen tokens.

According to the agreement, the hacker would send back some of the tokens as a sign of goodwill after the opening of the vote. According to on-chain data, the hacker sent back $ 8 million tokens.

The $47 million bug bounty will be the biggest bug bounty in crypto history. However, although it is stated that a criminal investigation will not be initiated, it is unclear whether this is legally binding.

The attack on Mango Markets, a lending platform on the Solana blockchain, was recorded as the sixth largest attack in DeFi history.
