The court gave the first decision in the new lawsuit filed against Faruk Fatih Özer, who disappeared with a fraudulent charge of 356 million dollars, on charges of violating the Tax Procedure Law.
According to this, a second lawsuit was filed against Özer, who was determined not to submit the documents to the Tax Inspection Board and started to evade taxes years ago. His lawyers joined the lawsuit in which Özer was tried for up to 3 years in prison. The lawyers demanded Özer’s acquittal by using the following statements:
“Our client is abroad at the moment. Wanted by red notice. The company was established in 2017 and was abandoned ex officio in 2021. The notification sent by the Tax Inspection Board regarding the documents requested was made in 2021, while it was being managed by a trustee. Therefore, there is a force majeure situation. Immediate acquittal. There is no need for a defendant’s defense.”
The court decided to issue an arrest warrant for Özer.
