Basketball legend, Magic Johnson introduced a new NFT series this week.
The legendary basketball player became the latest player to enter the digital art market with the release of the “The Antology: Magic Johnson” NFT collection in NBA Top Shot.
The NFT collection will launch on June 7 and will showcase rare and legendary moments from Johnson’s career. A total of 1600 anthology packs will be released and will cost $399 each. Each pack will feature four Magic Johnson moments from the seasons where the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Championship. Each pack will contain a guaranteed Magic Johnson Moment NFT of Rare or Legendary rarity.
US clubs have embraced Web3, with a number of prominent athletes serving as advocates for significant global change. In 2020, the NBA and Dapper Labs introduced Top Shot, an NBA NFT marketplace built on the Flow (FLOW) blockchain.
Johnson said in a tweet on Monday:
“I’m excited to join @nbatopshot to broadcast my first NFTs and present my fans with some of my favorite career moments.”
