NYU Establishes ‘Web3 Partnership’ With This Altcoin: It Takes Off!

This altcoin course introduces students to the technology underlying the industry with hands-on experience working with Web3 tools.

Education is a well-known barrier to entry for many when it comes to the crypto and Web3 space. This is especially true when understanding the underlying technology powering these innovations.

The New York University School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS), one of the schools that make up New York University, announced a partnership with the Near Foundation to launch a new “Web3 Learning Workshop” for students and faculty, along with industry partners. Post partnership cryptocoin.comNEAR is trading at $2.56, up 8.20%.

This process comes out of the NYU SPS Preston Robert Tisch Institute of Global Sport. The workshop will have a specific angle looking at the intersection between Web3 and blockchain technologies and the sports industry. NYU SPS Dean Angie Kamath said universities have a responsibility to prepare their communities for ‘success in every industry’. The statement said:

“Web3 and blockchain technologies will have a huge role to play, not just in the sports industry, but in every industry that touches our lives.”

In the process, he touches on the fundamentals of blockchain and digital assets and their utility in the world of sports. Participants in this process will be exposed to hands-on experience taught by Michael Kelly, co-founder of the Near ecosystem.

They stated that there is a global shortage

Additionally, students attending NYU SPS will be eligible to receive new, NFT rewards through a decentralized app on the Near platform. While NYU is not the first school to offer a curriculum on blockchain and Web3 technologies, it is one of the top universities in the United States.

Educators in Australia recently issued a statement citing a global shortage of ‘qualified people’ training in the Web3 industry.

Huxley Peckham of Blockchain Academy International emphasized that 60 industries have applied blockchain technology in some form and that blockchain education is important for the ‘next generation of strategists and consultants’.

Binance Charity will provide over 30,000 Web3 scholarships

Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of Binance, will fund 30,655 scholarships to students who want to pursue a career in Web3 in 2023. The Binance Charity Scholars Program (BCSP) will provide free Web3 education and training courses that will enable tech-savvy students to hone their skills without having to overcome unnecessary financial barriers.

The blog post noted that more than 82,000 applicants are interested in being part of the next BCSP cohort, which equates to an acceptance rate of approximately 37%. Education partners involved include the University of Western Australia, the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Germany and the Nigeria-based technology center Utiva.
