According to screenshots shared by users, the attack is a scam NFT minting claiming to be collaborating with YouTube made to publicize its effectiveness. Members were redirected to a site with the word YouTube in the URL but not YouTube’s official site. Security company PeckShield described the attack as a phishing attack. The message in question was shared on the announcements channel, and the OpenSea team later hid the channel in question. There is no information about the balance sheet of the attack yet.
