Portuguese Parliament rejects proposals for crypto taxation.
According to the economy-oriented ECO newspaper, taxation proposals came from left-wing parties Bloco de Esquerda and Livre. Both proposals submitted were rejected during the budget vote.
However, the issue of crypto tax may come up again in Portugal.
The country’s finance minister said in early May that the government would work on the regulatory framework but could not give any date.
Livre’s proposal will allow taxation of earnings above 5000 euros. Mariana Mortágua of Bloco de Esquerda also criticized the government for failing to find a way to tax crypto
