Robinhood CEO: This Altcoin Is My Best Friend!

The CEO of trading platform Robinhood supports the popular altcoin project. Robinhood CEO and co-founder Vladimir Tenev has just tweeted about the biggest meme coin Dogecoin (DOGE). According to the tweet, DOGE is Tenev’s “best friend”. Here are the details…

Robinhood CEO mentioned the popular altcoin DOGE

Dogecoin has been a coin that has attracted the attention of many people over the past year. The last of them became the CEO of a famous company. Vladimir Tenev, CEO of trading firm Robinhood, tweeted recently. Celebrating “National Best Friends Day”, Tenev shared a photo of him on Twitter showing the Dogecoin mascot. Tenev used the following phrases:

When you’re your best friend, things are never scary.

The tweet drew attention in the DOGE ecosystem. In particular, community members asked what kind of dog the one in the photo was. Some people commented on the post, citing Robinhood’s listing of the SHIB earlier this year, suggesting that the mascot belongs to the second-largest meme coin, the Shiba Inu (SHIB). However, the truth accepted by the majority is that; Robinhood CEO is only referring to Dogecoin. Tenev is known as a Dogecoin fan, just like Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Tenev’s adoration of DOGE

As we have also reported as Kriptokoin.com. In April, Tenev offered tips to help Dogecoin become the currency of the internet. In a Twitter thread, the CEO discussed the possibilities of the altcoin network and how it can be exploited. The first and foremost of these was transaction fees. DOGE offers the lowest transaction fees, according to the CEO. Second, the 1-minute block time is too long for a network aiming to establish a global presence. Instead, a 10-second block would be much more convenient for making faster transactions and preventing miners from creating competing chains, thus saving power consumption.

He also stated that DOGE needs to increase its potential by 10000 in terms of the number of transactions per second. Thus, it received positive reactions from other DOGE advocates such as Tesla founder Elon Musk and DOGE co-creator Billy Markus. At the time of writing, the price of Dogecoin is changing hands with a 0.4% rise. DOGE is the tenth largest cryptocurrency with a market cap of $10.6 billion. Cryptocurrency has fallen by 23 percent in 30 days with the effect of the downtrend that has been affecting the market for the last month. The coin is about 90 percent below the record level of $0.73 it saw on May 8, 2021. At the time of writing, DOGE is trading at $0.08.
