Denis Manturov, Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade, said that sooner or later crypto payments will become legal.
At a forum held, Manturov replied to a question about crypto payments he received:
Russia is also planning to issue its own digital ruble. Although the government previously thought that cryptocurrencies were used for money laundering or financing terrorism, it currently has a positive stance on crypto.
However, Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina also expressed that she did not welcome the annual influx of approximately $5 billion in crypto by the Russians.
Manturov stated that regulations on the use of cryptocurrencies will be formulated first by the central bank and then by the government.
