Shiba Inu (SHIB) lead developer Shytoshi Kusama tried to counter his community’s revolts about Shibarium. The community, also known as SHIB Army, complains that the date for public beta testing is not clear.
Shiba Inu founder talks about the Shibarium team
Unification, the developer team behind Shibarium, previously announced that both alpha and public beta testing will launch by the end of Q3 2022. The company explicitly dates in its statement last month:
Unification’s consulting work with Shibarium continues towards its fourth successful alpha and public testnets, still scheduled for the end of quarter release or shortly after.
Shiba Inu community complains of delay
The announcement sparked enthusiasm in the Shiba Inu community at the time. Many were confident that the team would keep their word. However, the public beta did not start as expected. Someone on Discord asked why the Shibarium public beta hasn’t been released yet as promised.
Responding to the question, Kusama said that their partner, Unification, gave the date, not the Shiba Inu team:
We didn’t actually say anything, but our friends said that the public beta will arrive in Q3 2022 or shortly after.
While Kusama thought the scheduled date seemed fair at the time, she explained that the Shiba Inu “did not give a date.” He underlined that they said it would be “in the third quarter or soon”.
BONE’s continued decline in price causes many to speculate
BONE is the cryptocurrency that Shibarium rewards its investors. According to CoinMarketCap data, the trading volume of the BONE token suddenly increased by over 205%. However, the price continues to fall. This leads to speculation. BONE is currently up around 3%. However, as we can see from the chart below, it fell by around 13% today, which made investors revolt.
A screen recording from the day reveals the sharp drop in trading volume. High volatility often leads to an increase in trading volume for any crypto. Because experienced traders trade enormous amounts to make a profit.
No official date yet for Shibarium
According to Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, the team has yet to give an official date for Shibarium’s release. Its latest update, the Tier 2 Shibarium builder, was offered in Unification in Q3 2022 or shortly after the Shibarium public beta could launch.
In September, BONE mining was officially discontinued as the current supply exceeded 230 million. The upcoming Tier 2 Shibarium will require securing 20 million BONEs for the protocol to work, where rewards will be reserved for validators and gas. Additionally, delegates are known to be rewarded with BONE for their efforts and playing the roles assigned to them in the Blockchain.
