Solana-based crypto wallet Slope claimed there was no link between the existing vulnerability and the $4 million hack.
Although the developers of the Slope wallet admitted that there was a vulnerability in the wallet, they claimed that there was no evidence to link them to the $4 million attack.
Slope denies the accusations
Solana Labs researchers cited the vulnerability in the Slope wallet as the cause of the hacking attack. According to the information received, hackers had emptied many wallets by accessing users’ private keys.
Solana released a statement on the subject. This statement was made in collaboration with OtterSec and SlowMist.
According to Slope, there is no conclusive evidence linking the wallet vulnerability to the hacking attack. Slope stated that only 1444 wallets were emptied due to the attack.
Dune Analytics, which prepared a report on the attack, claimed that there were 9,232 wallets affected.
According to Slope, the vulnerability lies behind an encrypted server. In order to access this server, a three-factor authentication is required. Wallet developers stated that there is no such vulnerability.
Solana developers, on the other hand, emphasized that there is a problem with the architecture of Slopu and that people’s private keys were stolen.
