Solana announces $100 million funding for Korean crypto startups.
Solana, one of the leading smart contract platforms, announced a new $100 million fund for Korean web3 startups. The fund, jointly launched by Solana Ventures and the Solana Foundation, will focus on startups in the gaming, NFT, and DeFi fields. Johnny B. Lee, general manager of games at Solana Foundation, said:
“We have been working with Korean developers for a while and have been actively investing in the ecosystem, which has helped us understand the Korean market more deeply. (…) Korea is at the forefront of web3 game design and development, and we are focused on helping more developers in Korea turn their ideas into reality.”
This fund represents the first fund launched by the foundation to focus on a specific region.
