Sony Collaborates With Theta Labs for 3D Imaging of NFTs

Japanese multinational conglomerate Sony announced that it has collaborated with blockchain video distribution network Theta Labs for technology that will allow us to detect NFTs in 3D without using any additional devices.

Sony Electronics and Theta Labs Partnership

Sony Electronics and Theta Labs are new to NFTs partnered to bring a technology. The two companies will work together to launch NFTs that can be viewed in mixed reality via Sony’s “Spatial Reality Display”, a monitor that allows people to perceive objects in 3D without using traditional 3D accessories.

It brings a brand new feature to NFTs with Spatial Reality Display, which provides a 3D viewing experience to users by tracking eye movement and adjusting the screen as the viewer moves.

Sony Delivers Spatial Reality Display Technology to NFTs

Mitch Liu, Theta Labs co-founder and CEO, said NFTs and metaverses are now 3D stated that it has “great potential” for visualization .

Liu also stated that currently the NFT industry consists of 2D images and videos. However, Theta Labs CEO thinks that “the metaverse is already 3D” .

Sony Electronics executive Nick Colsey said the NFT version is a way to show the capabilities of Sony’s new Spatial Reality Display technology to NFT and metaverse enthusiasts. Colsey made the following statements on the subject:

“Consumers will now be able to enjoy the next generation 3D experience without the need for 3D glasses. Theta’s NFTs are the newest way to demonstrate our rapid adoption of metaverse-friendly technology.”
