State of Louisina Considering Adopting Cryptocurrency

Louisiana, the 25th most populous US state, is considering accepting cryptocurrencies.

According to the news of The Daily Advertiser, the US state of Louisiana is in the process of forming a committee to adopt cryptocurrencies.

State Representative Mark Wright submitted a proposal to form the committee. The proposal will need to be approved first by the House Appropriations Committee and then by the legislature. If these approvals are received, they will be sent to the Louisiana State Senate for final approval.

Wright also introduced a bill that would allow politicians to accept campaign donations with cryptocurrencies.

The Republican lawmaker believes the state can be a pioneer in the crypto space.

Recently, Colorado’s Democratic governor, Jared Polis, announced that the state will become the first in the country to allow customers to pay with cryptocurrencies.
