Tension Rising Between Bahamas and FTX

Bahamiangovernment made harsh statements against the person responsible for the restructuring of FTX.

Tensions are running high after FTX and more than 100 affiliated companies filed for bankruptcy in the US on November 11. Bahamas regulator’s post-crash local FTXA small battle ensued between John J. Ray III, who was appointed to FTX, and the Bahamas, as the move to confiscate his unit’s digital assets ignited the debate.

Bahamas Talks About FTX’s New CEO

The Bahamian government has made statements about John J. Ray III, who is trying to get out of the wreckage of Sam Bankman-Fried’s shattered company.

Bahamas Attorney General Ryan Pinder He said on Sunday that the recent statements made by John J. Ray III in the US bankruptcy proceedings were regrettable. He also said that the statement misrepresented the measures taken by the country’s securities watchdog.

Pinder, who is also a senator, said in a video speech:

“It is possible that the prospect of millions of dollars in legal and advisory fees is driving both their legal strategy and their brazen disclosures. In any event, we call for common sense and accuracy in all future applications.”
