The most profitable crypto categories in October

The month of October, known as “Uptober”, saw increases in many crypto categories, especially memecoins.

Leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) came very close to its all-time high of $73,720 in October. BTC touched $73,620 on October 29. The strong structure of BTC paved the way for altcoins.

While many altcoins were impressive with their unique rises, the general outlook was noteworthy. The categories created based on the focus of cryptocurrencies gave the signal of the altcoin bull.

While the best performance of October was memecoins, NFTs and GameFi (game) were also included in the list.

Here are the top five crypto categories of October…


Memecoins

Memecoins, the community-driven category of the crypto industry, saw dramatic growth in October. The memecoin category, which was the best performer of the “Uptober” month, increased by 41 percent last month. While Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) gained significant momentum, newly launched memecoins attracted intense interest.

The best performer of October was SPX6900 (SPX). Memecoin, which was launched as a dedication to the S&P500, managed to go viral in a short time. SPX has increased by 287.5 percent in the last month.

According to CoinGecko data, the other memecoins that rose the most in the “Uptober” month are as follows;

  • RETARDIO 201.3 percent increase
  • PUPS increased by 182 percent
  • GIGA 167 percent increase
  • FWOG up 150 percent
  • HOPPY 109 percent rise

GameFi (Game projects)

The GameFi (game) category, which also includes crypto projects with a play-to-win model, was among the best performances of the “Uptober” month. ApeCoin, which launched its own blockchain, Big Time, which is listed on many exchanges, and Pixels, which expanded its investor base, contributed to the category’s prominence. The gaming category grew by 26 percent in October.

In October, Big Time (BIGTIME) rose 46.3 percent and ApeCoin (APE) rose 45 percent. Other GameFi coins that marked the “Uptober” month are as follows;

  • SuperVerse (SUPER) up 28.8 percent
  • Pixels (PIXEL) 26.4 percent increase
  • Mythos (MYTH) increased by 21.6 percent
  • Smooth Love Potion (SLP) up 17 percent
  • Beam (BEAM) 8.3 percent increase

CeFi (Central Finance)

Cryptocurrencies of platforms, exchanges and various interfaces constituted the third best-performing category of October. The CeFi category has seen dramatic growth in the past month. Tokens of WhiteBIT and Bitget exchanges gave momentum to the relevant category. The CeFi category grew by 18.4 percent in October.

While WhiteBIT Coin (WBT) increased by 67.8 percent in October, Bitget Token (BGB) increased by 16.2 percent.

According to Cryptorank data, the other CeFi coins that rose the most in the “Uptober” month are as follows;

  • Maple (MPL) 33.5 percent increase
  • Tokenize Xchange (TKX) up 13.1 percent
  • Fasttoken (FTN) increased by 11.4 percent
  • WOO (WOO) 9.41 percent increase
  • UNUS SED LEO (LEO) face 4.11 rise

NFT Coins

NFTs, which reached million-dollar prices in the previous bull run, quickly lost blood and were buried on the dusty shelves of history. With the rise of cryptocurrencies, which have made NFTs more secure and usable, the industry has managed to revive. Blur and ApeCoin, in particular, paved the way for the rise of the NFT category. The NFT category grew by 16.5 percent in October.

In October, NFT and memecoin project RETARDIO reached the top with a rise of 195.5 percent.

Other NFT coins that marked the “Uptober” month are as follows;

  • ApeCoin (APE) 45 percent rise
  • SuperVerse (SUPER) up 27.1 percent
  • Memecoin (MEME) increased by 20.8 percent
  • Smooth Love Potion (SLP) increased by 15.2 percent
  • SPACE ID (ID) increased by 13.4 percent

Coins (Cryptocurrencies that can be used as a means of payment)

Coins, one of the basic building blocks of the crypto industry, did not spend October idle. The Coins category, which consists of cryptocurrencies that can be used as payment instruments, grew by 13.8 percent in October.

Dogecoin (DOGE), which has a Proof of Work algorithm and is preferred as a payment instrument, was the best performer in the category. DOGE has increased by 51.9 percent in the last month.

In the Coins category that marked October, other prominent cryptocurrencies are as follows;

  • Zano (ZANO) 41.4 percent increase
  • Beldex (BDX) 36.8 percent increase
  • Bitcoin (BTC) 15 percent rise
  • Litecoin (LTC) up 11.6 percent
