Extradition of Thodex Founder Fatih Özer Approved
Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the crypto exchange Thodex, defrauded thousands of people and fled abroad with millions of dollars in crypto money. He was found to be hiding in Albania and was caught by Turkey’s attempts. Thereupon, Türkiye made an official application to the Albanian authorities for Özer’s extradition. However, the local court denied the request for extradition. After the second application was also rejected, the matter was brought to the Albanian Supreme Court. As a result of the high court examination, Özer’s extradition to Turkey was decided, and when the objection to the extradition decision was also rejected, Özer’s extradition to Turkey became final. Özer is expected to be sent to Turkey in the coming days.
