What is the latest situation in the market?
Bitcoin’s price has given mixed signals over the past 24 hours. The cryptocurrency attempted to rise above $44,000 on two separate occasions during this time frame. It failed at both, as can be seen in the graph below. It looks like the bulls are taking a breather and their momentum has stalled at the moment. This situation also had an impact on the derivatives market. Data from Coinglass reveals how many long and short positions were liquidated in the last 24 hours, divided into different time periods.
Clearly, in the last hour, long positions were caught off guard as the price dropped significantly, resulting in the liquidation of close to $14 million. BitTorrent (BTT) is one of these examples. The cryptocurrency experienced a 100% explosion yesterday and is up 42% in the last 24 hours. BTT is currently the best-performing cryptocurrency among the top 100 coins, followed by WEMIX, which is up nearly 30% in the same time frame. At the other end of the spectrum is PYTH, the native cryptocurrency of Solana-based Pyth Network. The altcoin lost 14.3% in value over the same period.
