Turkey Open Source Platform Organized ‘Hackathon’ on Blockchain, NFT and Metaverse

Turkey Open Source Platform organized a ‘Hackathon’ in the fields of blockchain, NFT and metaverse. The teams competed against each other in the 36-hour event held in Bilişim Vadisi.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, 112 developers in 41 teams competed in the ‘Hackathon’ organized by the Turkish Open Source Platform, which was established in partnership with Bilişim Vadisi and TÜBİTAK. The successful teams in the competition were rewarded. Informatics Valley General Manager Ahmet Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, one of the founders of Turkey Open Source Plotform, said:

“Here, in one of the ‘Hackathons’ organized by our Open Source Platform, NFT, Metaverse and Blockchain themed project work was carried out. we are in. 41 teams, with 112 developers, performed a work here for 36 hours, sleeping from time to time, napping from time to time, and standing up from time to time. They actually coded for 36 hours. As a result of these codes, they present their work to their mentors and juries. In the jury, there are people who work in an academic sense, and on the other hand, sector representatives who can answer when they ask how we can use the studies in the sector.”

Open Source Platform Director Sertaç Yerlikaya said:

“As an Open Source Platform, we organize competitions with industry representatives, public institutions and universities. Today’s event is one of these competitions. We organized this competition in order to raise awareness among start-ups both in the sector and among students at universities on Blockchain, NFT and Metaverse, to provide opportunities for new initiatives in this field, and to bring ecosystem stakeholders together. More than 120 sector representatives supported us in the competition. The competition was very exciting, the first one we’ve done physically in a long time. It was opened on Friday, the competition lasted 36 hours. Over 110 competitors and teams participated. It has been a very exciting and productive work.”

Medipol Blockchain team came first in the project category and won an award of 100,000 TL. The runner-up Notus Network was awarded 75.000 TL, and the third OMS was awarded with 50,000 TL.

42 Core team came first in the Case category and was entitled to receive a cash prize of 100,000 TL. The second Ft_bestof42 team won 75.000 TL, the third Ft_Blockchain team won 50.000 TL.
