Social media giant Twitter pressed the button to develop its own cryptocurrency wallet.
According to tech writer Jane Manchun Wong, the social media giant has begun work on a “wallet prototype” that will make it possible to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrencies.
Twitter previously rolled out a feature that allows users to tip creators with Bitcoin. The company also paved the way for tipping with Ethereum in February.
The social media platform also made it possible for users to use NFT in their profile pictures earlier this year.
The addition of cryptocurrency wallets could be a critical step towards fully transforming Twitter into a web3 platform.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is also expected to complete the acquisition of Twitter in the coming weeks.
