UK National Crime Agency ( NCA) is looking to expand its digital asset investigation team by hiring four senior investigators to work on crypto-related crimes.
The UK is working to set up an investigation team focused on illegal crypto activities. On January 4, NCA formed its digital assets team, signaling a focus on crypto assets. The new formation has been associated with an increase in value lost due to crypto scams in the UK in 2022. According to the UK’s cybercrime and fraud reporting system, crypto thieves stole at least $287 million in 2022.

His hiring of the NCA includes investigating top crypto fraud, money laundering and other blockchain-based crimes carried out by organized crime groups. Investigators will work with a surveillance team and London police. It was stated that the position requires any equivalent qualification granted by the state. The salary ranged from £34,672 to £38,314 ($44,145 – $48,782) and other public service benefits, it said.
NCA aims to add more people to its crypto team in terms of security. On July 26, the NCA also reported that it is seeking financial investigation executives. These investigators will oversee crypto and digital asset criminal investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act related to diverting for the benefit of the community.
