UK to Submit Bill to Combat Illegal Financing

Prince Charles announced that the UK will introduce a bill to combat illegal financing. Prince Charles read the Queen’s Speech for the first time today as the Queen was unable to attend.

Speech said that the UK government would introduce a bill to combat illegal financing, but no mention of cryptocurrencies:

“Further strengthen their mandate to combat illegal financing, reduce economic crime and help businesses grow A bill will be submitted for Measures will be put in place to support their security services and help them protect the UK.”

There was no clear mention of cryptocurrencies that were expected to be highlighted in the speech. The new bill will further the government’s powers to seize crypto assets, the Financial Times reported in February. “Measures will also be published to establish new competition rules for digital markets and the largest digital firms,” Prince Charles

said early in his speech. The speech also highlighted the focus on helping the economy and the cost of living amid the recent cost of living crisis. In addition, the Bank of England will focus on returning inflation to its target.

The Queen’s Speech marks the beginning of a new session of Parliament in the UK. The government writes and approves its content, which outlines the upcoming government policy and legislative program. The speech was read for the first time this year by the Queen’s son, Prince Charles.
