US Businessperson Chose These Altcoins: It Will Overtake Bitcoin!

In a Twitter chatroom earlier today, controversial entrepreneur Martin Shkreli discussed his thoughts on the future of Bitcoin and DeFi with the crypto community. Martin Shkreli, who was recently released from prison on fraud charges, calls Algorand and Solana promising altcoin projects and says Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin in the future.

I started using this altcoin project in prison

Martin Shkreli, also a US businessman, says he is optimistic about the future of the DeFi industry. Stating that he has used Uniswap in prison in the past in his statements on Twitter, Shkreli also discusses how DeFi can hijack the traditional financial system in the future:

Uniswap is really great. I started using Uniswap in prison…I don’t think it’s on the edge of where it can go. I think we will see more financial products culminating in DeFi… eventually we will see some cryptocurrencies bigger than banking giants.

Shkreli also said that traditional stocks can be tokenized using Blockchain. Shkreli, who built his career as a hedge fund manager before founding Turing Pharmaceuticals, adds that DeFi can give people “true freedom” by giving people the ability to trade any asset anywhere in the world.

“Algorand and Solana will melt Bitcoin’s share”

He also named Algorand and Solana as two Tier-1 projects that could reduce Bitcoin’s dominance in the market and the best He stated that he thinks crypto’s reign can be “defeated” over time. He said he thinks Ethereum could surpass Bitcoin’s market cap, a hypothetical event that Ethereum enthusiasts refer to as the “Flip”:

The so-called ‘flip’ where Ethereum is worth more than Bitcoin… Ether This is hard not to have given the use cases of .

Australian singer-songwriter Sia joined the discussion with Shkreli, saying she thinks Web3 has “changed her life over the past few years” and could end world poverty in the future. After a long hiatus from Sia, Shkreli made a comparison between himself and Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin. “It takes a real genius to think outside the box,” he said of the duo. He also encouraged him to look into Proof of Humanity, the Ethereum project behind Universal Basic Income. “If you’re not on it, you can really help push the project forward,” he said, explaining that Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin was involved in it.

Interestingly, Buterin addressed Shkreli during the five-hour conversation. tweeted above, which could be interpreted as criticism:

How do we create a culture where it’s harder to set (or become) the subject of public speaking by doing something terrible, and easier to do it by doing something wonderful?
