US Treasury Department Releases First Report on Cryptocurrency Regulations

The US Treasury Department has released its first report on the regulation of digital assets.

The report is the first to be published on the executive order of US President Joe Biden on digital assets.

In its report, the Treasury Department discussed how to work with foreign regulators. The report, released as a result of Joe Biden’s executive order on cryptocurrencies, stressed that it aims to “ensure that America’s core democratic values ​​are respected.”

The report examined various sub-topics such as consumer and investor protection, security of the global financial system and interoperability.

According to the report, policy objectives of the regulatory framework also include reducing the use of crypto for illicit financing, promoting access to financial services, supporting technological progress, and “strengthening US leadership in the global financial system.”
