Vitalik Buterin: I’m No Longer a Billionaire

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated in his tweet that he is no longer a crypto billionaire.

Buterin made this statement while responding to a tweet about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, who top the list of the world’s richest people.

Buterin, who founded Ethereum with names like Charles Hoskinson and Joseph Lubin, had $1.5 billion in ETH last November.

But since then, the value of the second-largest cryptocurrency has dropped by more than 50% and Buterin’s holdings have been cut in half. This situation also changed Buterin’s “billionaire” status.

Other crypto billionaires who lost a large portion of their fortunes include Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. According to Bloomberg, all crypto billionaires have lost $80 billion in total.

Buterin praised Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk’s response to comments they received on Twitter and complained that “big bosses” were not communicating directly with the public. He later said that he is no longer a crypto billionaire.

Buterin was appreciated for his generous behavior when he was a crypto billionaire. To help alleviate the pandemic, the Ethereum founder donated 5% of the SHIB supply to an Indian healthcare organization. This donation was equivalent to $1 billion at the time.

Buterin also donated $1 million in Ethereum to the Dogecoin Foundation a few weeks ago.
