Binance CEO Warns of Fake Ads

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao(CZ) warned that when searching Google for CoinMarketCap, crypto scam sites with advertising tags appeared above the actual website.

Despite Google’s strict policies on crypto marketing for its advertising service, scammers have still been slipping through the cracks for the past few years. Scam websites rank higher than even real crypto and blockchain projects.

In his warning on Twitter, CZ said:

“Google shows phishing sites when you search for CoinMarketCap (CMC). Users who add smart contract addresses to MetaMask using these phishing sites are affected. We tried to contact Google for this and in the process, we wanted to warn users through social media channels.”
