VNB recently announced that it has acquired FHM, the firm behind “safcoin,” South Africa’s first PoW coin to be listed on a global exchange. Web3 firm is now preparing to list on new exchanges, as a result of its acquisition of FHM. They will also merge their partnership with Cowrie, the newly founded crypto exchange by VNB.

Supporting customers’ digital needs

VNB, a Web3 technology firm, recently announced that it has acquired FHM. FHM is the founding firm of Africa’s first cryptocurrency, safcoin. VNB owns 30% of Blockchain law firm Schindlers Attorneys. VNB described the combination of the two businesses as an important step in the Web3 revolution that will support “the digital needs of its customers”.

As a result of the acquisition of FHM by VNB, the safcoin, launched in 2018, will “list and consolidate all digital use cases and platforms on the new VNB-created Cowrie exchange and partnerships.” Neil Ferreira, co-founder and CEO of FHM, had this to say about plans to list more on the exchange:

Together with VNB, we plan to expand our global reach with more international exchange partner listings. We received good support from the international crypto market with our initial listing and we are proud to fly the SA [South Africa] flag into the global crypto space.

Blockchain-enabled opportunities

Meanwhile, Maurice Crespi, a partner at Schindlers Attorneys and CEO of VNB, cited the two companies’ involvement in the NFT auction of the arrest warrant of former South African president Nelson Mandela:

Sales took a look at the possibilities offered by the digital world through virtualization. Blockchain’s opportunities and applications are no longer limited to finance. Crespi can be applied in a variety of industries, including the use of Blockchain and especially smart contracts, community development and business efficiency.
