TrueUSD is the first independently verified cryptocurrency that is redeemable 1:1 in US dollars. A multi-chain stablecoin, TUSD uses traditional banks, escrow accounts, and third-party attestations, focusing on measures such as transparency, risk mitigation, and fraud prevention.
What is TrueUSD?
TrueUSD is a 1:1 convertible multi-chain stablecoin from the US dollar. Introduced by TrustToken in January 2018, the TUSD token is backed by one dollar each and distributed using the platform’s smart contract. TUSD works with approved banks that hold the assets that form the basis of TUSD.
In March 2019, TrustToken entered into a partnership with accounting firm Armanino to provide a real-time view of the US dollar backing TUSD. In December 2019, TrustToken and Armanino launched TrustExplorer, a stablecoin assurance platform that uses blockchain-enabled assurance technology to provide an important layer of trust and transparency to multiple digital asset ecosystems.
The liquidity of TUSD is provided on various top exchanges and DeFi protocols and is supported by large over-the-counter (OTC) desks reaching international consumers in over 120 countries worldwide. As of May 2022, TrustToken reported reserves of US$1.217 billion, closely matching the circulating US$1.215 billion in TUSD.

How TrueUSD Works
TrueUSD runs on the Ethereum blockchain, using the network’s smart contracts. It is possible to mine and use a tokenized version of the US dollar using the aforementioned contracts.
When an investor uses US dollars to purchase TUSD on the TrustToken platform, the underlying smart contract of the platform automatically generates and issues the matching equivalent amount of TUSD that forms part of the circulating supply of the token. In contrast, every time a user redeems TUSD through the TrustToken platform, a smart contract automatically burns or removes the used tokens from the circulating TUSD supply. Simultaneously, the platform issues US dollars equal to the amount of TUSD purchased by the user.
TrustToken does not charge purchase fees for transactions, which is one of the benefits of using TUSD. The Firm generates revenue by collecting interest on US dollars held in company accounts. As traders are fully aware of their capacity to buy and sell TUSD at a 1:1 ratio using TrustToken, the market pegs the token to the dollar, creating a natural arbitrage opportunity.
What Does TUSD Do?
Both users and institutions use TUSD tokens for various reasons. TUSD is considered advantageous as it allows traders to access the cryptocurrency markets without exposure to volatility. It also allows traders to leave the market and avoid the increased volatility by focusing on the stability of TUSD.
On the other hand, monthly audits show that the amount of US dollars held in escrow in FDIC-insured US bank accounts is equal to the amount of TUSD in circulation. As the number of trading pairs and liquidity increase, the TUSD token becomes more useful. It also promises to minimize third-party risk, as TUSD can be redeemed or held in any ERC-20 compliant personal wallet.
How Much is TrueUSD Supply?
The TrueUSD supply is 2 billion units, with a market cap of $2 billion. The cryptocurrency supply can affect the value of a cryptocurrency. An increase in the supply of cryptocurrencies could cause prices to fall if demand remains stable. Similarly, a decrease in supply can cause prices to rise if demand remains constant.
How Much Is TUSD ATH?
ATH stands for the all-time high (All-Time High) price of the cryptocurrency. This refers to the time when the cryptocurrency reached its highest level in its history. For example, Bitcoin’s ATH was $20,000 in December 2017. Ethereum’s ATH, on the other hand, reached $4,300 in May 2021. Other cryptocurrencies also have their own ATH, and generally, investors expect a cryptocurrency to exceed its ATH and reach a new ATH level. However, because cryptocurrencies are volatile, their prices can change rapidly and it can be difficult to reach, stay or even exceed ATH levels.
TUSD’s highest ATH price was seen on August 26, 2018 at $1.62.
How Much Is TUSD ATL?
