Wormhole Hacker Keeps Stealing Funds

The Wormhole hacker is looking for arbitrage opportunities with Ethereum (ETH), performing $46 million worth of attacks.

With the attack on the Wormhole bridge in February 2022, approximately $321 million worth of Wrapped ETH (wETH) was seized. It went down in history as the third largest crypto hacking event of 2022.

The Wormhole attacker can arbitrage Ethereum (ETH) for stable pairs. One of the big hacking events in the crypto industry is back in motion. It is stated that the stolen fund worth $ 46 million was moved to the hacker’s wallet address.

Wormhole Attacker Strikes Again

PeckShield, which offers security systems on behalf of Blockchain, stated in a statement that the hacker has taken action again. Details of the $ 46 million transferred by the hacker were announced. It was stated that the assets moved were approximately $41.4 million of 24,400 Lido Finance affiliated ETH staking (wETH) and $5 million worth of 3,000 Rocket Pool ETH (rETH) moved from the MakerDaO platform.

According to the information released by Peckshield, it is stated that the crypto attacker is seeking arbitrage in the stolen assets. PeckShield stated that the assets were used in the swap with 16.6 million DAI. The swapped assets were then evaluated for the purchase of 9,750 ETH at a price of $1,537 and 1000 stETH.
